Older competition results require deeper archival research and extended cross-checking — which is why the fee is higher. €290 per certificate. Every significant placement your horse earned deserves a place in their certified Digital Pedigree — regardless of when it happened.
A horse with five years of competition history has five years of verifiable value — if the documentation exists and can be authenticated.
When results are submitted more than five weeks after the event, the certification process requires substantially more work. Federation records may need to be retrieved from archives. Historical event documentation must be sourced and verified through secondary channels. The chain of custody — which is straightforward for recent events — requires more careful reconstruction for older ones.
This is why the extended certification fee reflects the actual effort involved — not a time penalty, but the true cost of thorough archival verification.
What the €290 certification covers:
· Deep archival research with the organising federation or authority
· Cross-referencing across multiple documentation sources where needed
· Cryptographic signing of the verified document — with accurate historical dating
· Integration into the horse’s Digital Pedigree career timeline at the correct chronological position
· The same public visibility and permanent certification as any other verified result
When extended certification is particularly valuable:

→ When certifying an entire season’s results at once (multiple results may be submitted together)
→ When a horse is being prepared for sale and the full career history needs to be formally documented

Every certified result — recent or historical — carries identical cryptographic proof and the same third-party legal accountability.
